Job Title: Senior Consultant - Human Factors
Location: West London
£45,000 - £55,000 + Benefits depending on experience
Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a Consultant or Senior consultant level Human Factors Engineer to join a dynamic Consultancy in West London.
In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to apply human factors methodologies in designing and developing innovative medical, consumer, and industrial products.
Strong communication and facilitation skills are essential, as you will moderate usability sessions and lead workshops.
This role includes opportunities for international travel to meet clients and participate in project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to global human factors and research projects.
- Design and execute activities such as contextual inquiries, formative studies, and validation studies in the UK and internationally.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify research opportunities and drive innovation.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposal development to win new business.
- Develop and present compelling research service offerings to differentiate the organization.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in human factors principles and methodologies applicable to product design and evaluation.
- Understanding of regulatory pathways for human factors in medical device development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to plan and facilitate research projects, translating insights into strategies or design directions.
- Enthusiasm for design innovation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Graduate-level qualifications in Human Factors, Psychology, Usability Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Desirable Experience:
- Experience designing and evaluating instructional materials like IFUs and training videos.
- Knowledge of use-related risk management and relevant analyses (e.g., uFMEA, URRA).
- Familiarity with preliminary analysis methods such as task analysis and expert reviews.
- Proposal writing experience and previous consultancy exposure.
- Chartered Status or progress toward Chartered Status.
