Human Factors Consultant
Location: Hybrid from Bristol, Gloucester, Leatherhead, Manchester or Glasgow
Salary: £55,000 - £62,000 + Bonus and Benefits Package

About the Role
We are looking for a Human Factors Consultant to support the development of our clients Human Factors Integration capability and join a dedicated Human Sciences team.
If you are looking for a role where you can utilise your knowledge in more than one vertical sector this is a rare opportunity to do that.
This multidisciplinary team consists of Human Factors experts and Behavioural Scientists working across multiple industry sectors.
You will work on a variety of projects in industries such as energy, defence, space, government infrastructure, transport, and manufacturing. The role involves delivering Human Factors work programmes as part of multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, there is an opportunity to undertake research into various Human Factors topics directly for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Human Factors (HF) strategies for complex projects from both a technical and commercial perspective.
- Implement HFI activities, including early human factors analysis, ergonomic assessments, human error and reliability assessments, and workload evaluations.
- Manage projects from a technical and commercial standpoint, providing direction to team members.
- Author and review complex technical deliverables.
- Identify and support business development opportunities, including the preparation of estimates, proposals, and budgets.
- Undertake formal HF analyses as applied to engineering programmes.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships.
- Provide technical mentoring to junior team members.
- Contribute to the vision and strategy for the Human Factors team.
- Implement HF strategies across a range of safety-critical industries.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Human Factors or a related field.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
- Experience integrating Human Factors within multidisciplinary engineering, technology, and project services.
- Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering and HFI methodologies.
Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the work, candidates will need to undergo pre-employment screening and must meet UK National Security Vetting criteria.
