Energy Market Analytics - Low Carbon Fuel
Main responsibilities
Contribute to gas market analysis and to the generation of trade ideas to support gas trading by the gas desk, with a particular focus on quantitative analysis of the gas market.
Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Work closely with the gas analysts, gas data engineers and gas traders, and other colleagues, to develop models to further the desk's understanding of short- and medium-term fundamental dynamics for Global and European markets
• Develop trading ideas based on analysis of fundamentals, statistics and option pricing
• Maintain a superior level of quantitative rigor in analysis and closely monitor accuracy of analytical output over time.
• Develop tools to monitor market developments and implied gas balances.
• Effectively communicate views and findings to gas traders and analysts, and to other trader, analysts and management.
• Willingness to be flexible and adjust to changing conditions - the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be subject to change!

Experience required

• At least 1 year of experience in an energy commodities role, ideally with a strong understating of gas markets or other energy commodities
• Worked in a role that requires analytical skills.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and other quantitative techniques
• Technical requirements
• Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, math, finance, or economics or equivalent experience or relevant real-world experience
• Advanced skills in a combination of Excel, SQL, Python and statistics
