We are looking for a talented Mechanical Draftsperson to join our Hardware Domain as a contractor. You will create detailed mechanical drawings for a variety of major UK projects, applying your expertise in mechanical drafting.
The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Mechanical Draughtsperson?
- Produce detailed and accurate mechanical drawings for hardware projects using industry-standard CAD tools.
- Work with engineering teams to convert concepts into comprehensive technical drawings, implementing changes according to our company change process.
- Analyze and optimize mechanical designs for functionality, manufacturability, and efficiency.
- Generate precise documentation to support manufacturing, ensuring a smooth transition from concept to production.
- Contribute to design reviews, offering valuable insights to enhance the quality and efficiency of mechanical drawings.
- Select appropriate materials and finishes, considering durability, cost, and project requirements.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, contributing to the success of various hardware projects.
- Embrace a range of mechanical drafting tasks, demonstrating your adaptability and versatility.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, providing expertise to guide project direction.
- Maintain organized documentation following local operating procedures, implementing changes through our company change process.
What are we looking for in our next Mechanical Draughtsperson?
- Hold a minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in creating detailed mechanical drawings with a strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in mechanical drafting.
- Proficiency in CAD software for creating accurate and comprehensive drawings.
- Familiarity with design reviews and ability to offer valuable insights to improve drawings.
- Experience in designing mechanical components for diverse applications, showcasing versatility.
- Proven experience using SolidWorks.
