Wirral-headquartered renewable Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and generator specialists, operating on liquid biofuels, diesel, natural gas, biogas and syngas, the company are expanding its workforce to meet the growing demand for its OEM products and services.
The company is an award-winning business specialising in the design, manufacture and operation of a range of CHP units and power generation systems. Our range of applications begin at 5kWe through to 2.5mWe and everything in between and multiples thereof. Our renewable power systems are utilised by a wide range of commercial application throughout the UK where a zero-carbon energy solution, reliability, and grid resilience are critical.
The Role
- Take lead of electrical design matters within the projects department whilst supporting both sales, and service functions of the business.
- Evaluate, interpret and develop concepts into deliverable designs, using all technical data to ensure the safe and functional as well as contractual specifications are met in accordance with the development of a range of liquid and gas-powered combined heat and power, and power generation systems. Applying electrical and electromechanical principles to develop efficient and reliable installations.
- Work closely with mechanical engineering to identify project deliverables and coordinate M&E designs.
- Participate, and where necessary lead, internal and customer facing design review meetings.
- Design of electrical layouts and infrastructure, control panels, PLC interface, distribution, protection and control strategies to UK electrical regulations for a range of CHP and power generation systems operating at 415 to 11kV to meet requirements of assigned projects, including functionally, breaker and contactor interface and cable sizing and calculation.
- Using CAD packages including AutoCAD, Eplan Amtech and BIM software to ensure the correct evaluation interpretation, safety and compliance of a customer's requirements, whilst understanding the commercial aspects of containerised power generation and CHP equipment. Liaise with the Draughtsman to ensure that any design packages produced are on time and of the required quality.
- Electrical design and control of complex fuel storage and transfer control systems for oil and liquid fuel systems including trace heating, UPS battery support and fire system interface.
- Design of package plantroom, cable containment, power, control, lighting, motor starting systems, actuating valves, and power distribution boards associated with the design, which meets and exceeds current legislative requirements.
- Work closely with the project delivery team and specialist subcontractors, attending site to monitor correct installation processes and continuous improvement practices are being maintained, whilst ensuring as-built detail is complaint and recorded.
