Principal Systems Safety Engineer
£75,000 - £95,000.
Location: Wimbledon / Kingston / KT1
Clearance Required: UK Security Check (SC)

As a senior member of the Systems Safety team, you will play a vital role in delivering complex safety-critical systems and defence standards across multiple platforms. You will undertake safety engineering activities in accordance with safety processes and using guidance from Def Stan 00-056 and IEC61508.

Your Role:
- Conduct safety analyses such as HAZOPs, FFA, FTA, and FMECA in line with relevant safety standards.
- Develop and define safety requirements to meet customer and system safety targets.
- Present complex safety arguments to stakeholders, influencing critical safety decisions.
- Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-quality outputs.
- Support internal and external safety audits and design reviews.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in Systems Safety within the UK Defence industry.
- Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent experience in Engineering or Safety Management.
- Knowledge of safety standards such as IEC 61508 and Def Stan 00-056.
- Experience in safety/reliability analysis techniques (HAZOPs, FTA, FMECA, etc.).
- Understanding of risk assessment tools and ALARP justifications.
