The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Production Engineering Lead?

• Production Support for Sonobuoys:
• Lead and coordinate engineering support to Production.
• Address supply chain and production issues, primarily mechanical and electrical.
• Oversee production acceptance activities through range testing.
• Assess and resolve production and range failures.
• Serve as the Engineering Lead for maintaining in-service Sonobuoys, including managing obsolescence and maintaining drawings/documentation.
• Act as the engineering lead with customers, presenting design changes and modifications.
• Manage Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) aspects, such as stock management and refiling.
• Provide technical support to customers for Sonobuoy usage and associated systems.
• Lead design and trade studies as required.

What are we looking for in our next Production Engineering Lead?

• Proven success in engineering management and team leadership.
• Foundation in Systems Engineering with an understanding of Software Engineering; background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Experience in producing engineering schedules with dependencies.
• Ability to estimate engineering tasks, review, challenge, and justify estimates.
• Skilled in managing risks, assumptions, issues, decisions, and opportunities.
• Experience with Work Package Management is ideal.
• Sonar awareness is beneficial but not essential.
