As the QHSE Engineer you will assist the QHSE team with all Quality Assurance aspects of procurement and project delivery. This includes supporting Quality Assurance for key project suppliers and sub-tier suppliers of parts and sub-assemblies and identifying areas for improvement. You will help ensure that products and processes meet business, customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a QHSE Engineer?

• Support the QHSE Manager in promoting continuous evaluation and improvement.
• Implement, improve, and maintain QHSE policies, processes, procedures, and systems for quality assurance.
• Identify and report non-conformance and non-compliance areas and recommend improvements.
• Participate in creating contract QHSE tender documentation.
• Undertake internal audits.
• Use the 8D method to resolve non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• For assigned contracts:
• Ensure customer QHSE requirements are met.
• Conduct PFMEA to prevent quality defects.
• Maintain contract quality plans and product traceability.
• Produce contract-specific metrics.
• Perform inspections, testing, and audits.
• Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports.
• Manage PPAP for projects.
• Oversee Supplier/Subcontractor quality management.
• Stay updated on relevant rules, regulations, standards, and specifications.
• Conduct QHSE inductions, toolbox talks, and raise QHSE awareness as needed.

What are we looking for in our next QHSE Engineer?

• Quality Assurance experience within electronic/mechanical engineering environment
• Knowledge of the product safety regulations would be desirable
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Internal/Lead Auditor and ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001
• Experience of, PPAP and IPC standards would be desirable
• Educated to degree or HNC level in either a safety or engineering discipline
• Previous experience within in a Manufacturing environment
• Ideally a member of the Chartered Quality Institute
