Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Contract Type: Contract, Outside of IR35
Day Rate: c.£500 per day

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a tier one main contractor in West London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high profile, heavy civil engineering project. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of the project, ensuring effective cost control, and supporting the procurement and subcontract management process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the efficient and accurate issue of contract-compliant documentation.
  • Support the procurement team during tenders, including the production of subcontract documentation.
  • Manage subcontracts from order placement through to final account settlement.
  • Prepare, review, and complete subcontract documentation and interim applications for payment.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering teams, and client commercial teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date commercial and technical knowledge, and work with technical staff to develop appropriate project solutions.
  • Assist in building and managing the development of a high-performing team, including setting objectives and monitoring performance.
  • Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract budget reports.
  • Ensure effective and accurate cost control, identifying commercial risks and opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Support the preparation of periodic progress valuations and claims for completed work.
  • Provide timely and appropriate information to support change control processes.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the SCS Commercial Policy and procedures.
  • Understand and implement environmental and sustainability policies as applicable to the project.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualifications: Relevant Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience.
  • Professional Membership: MCInstCES or MRICS.
  • Experience: Strong background in rail or infrastructure projects, with extensive NEC contract experience.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Power BI.
  • Attributes: Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a can-do approach.
  • Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK.
