Job Title: Estimator - Energy/Power Sector
Location: London, Birmingham, Glasgow or Edinburgh
Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 + car & package + remote working

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimator with civil engineering or infrastructure experience to join the growing power team of one of the UK's leading main contractors. The successful Estimator will quickly become an integral part of my clients pre construction and work winning teams and undertake a pivotal role in delivering accurate and competitive estimates on a range of projects for clients including National Grid, Scottish Power and SSE.

This role is offered on a remote basis although candidates will be required to attend the office 1-2 times a month in either London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh. As such, candidates will need to live within a reasonable commute of one of these offices.

As an Estimator, some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering projects including the construction and refurbishment of substations and high voltage overhead power lines
• Analyzing project requirements, specifications, and drawings to identify scope and risks.
• Collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing.
• Monitoring market trends and innovations to ensure competitive bids.
• Supporting the bid team in client presentations and negotiations.

The successful Estimator will need to have:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the power/energy (HV) sectors or heavy civil engineering sectors
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and methods
• Proficiency in estimating software (ideally CostX)
• Excellent attention to detail and first class communication skills
• A team player with a proactive and collaborative approach
