The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a FPGA Engineer?
- FPGA implementation, including requirements capture, RTL coding, and physical stages.
- Definition of conceptual structures and architectures for FPGA designs.
- Writing and executing test-bench code and performing other IV&V activities.
- Ensuring adherence to safety-related standards and contributing to their development and maintenance.
- Leveraging Model-Based Design techniques using tools like MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation.
- Managing requirements tracking, configuration control, incident reporting, and creating project documentation.
- Providing lab support during hardware development stages.
- Communicating effectively within and across teams, including participating in design reviews.
What are we looking for in our next FPGA Engineer?
- A degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent.
- Proven track record in FPGA/ASIC design with comprehensive knowledge of VHDL and practical project experience.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Design using tools like MATLAB/Simulink (preferred).
- Experience working within formal FPGA/ASIC design processes.
- A broad understanding of digital electronics and other engineering domains (e.g., systems, analogue/power electronics, mechanical, motors).
- Knowledge of best practices in the design lifecycle, including gated design phases and design reviews.
