About Us:

As an ILS Engineer specialising in Maintenance, you'll collaborate within a team focused on enhancing the platform's operability and maintainability. Your responsibilities will involve analysing system and spatial designs, overseeing the production, supply, and maintenance of essential support products. This position offers the opportunity to influence operations and maintenance strategies for complex solutions, whilst allowing you to develop your skills in Support Engineering within a dynamic and challenging environment.

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as an ILS Engineer?

• Reviewing ship design data and analysing it to generate ILS deliverables.
• Conducting verification and validation of engineering data deliverables from subcontractors.
• Providing validation for team engineers' work through peer reviews of RCM studies and PSTW reviews.
• Coordinating with broader Support teams to ensure consistency in data and information.
• Collaborating with Naval Ships design teams to validate design deliverables.
• Engaging across various disciplines to contribute to the creation of high-quality support products, including maintenance schedules, technical publications, and spare parts.
• Generating technical reports to support analysis and maintenance decisions.
• Supporting team engineers in developing and maintaining processes and instructions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ILS/IPS outputs.
• Performing Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) studies to establish maintenance schedules.
• Conducting Pre-Set to Work (PSTW) reviews of RCM studies to incorporate engineering changes and confirm the suitability of derived maintenance plans.

What are we looking for in our next ILS Engineer?

Essential:

• Strong grasp of engineering principles and familiarity with the ILS/IPS suite of disciplines.
• Knowledge and experience in Electrical or Mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in identifying and addressing issues during the engineering solutions development process.
• Ability to interpret and analyse schematic diagrams and technical documentation, and to resolve technical challenges within digital environments.

Desirable:

• Degree/HNC or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Science-based discipline.
• Experience using databases and understanding configuration requirements.
• Familiarity with a Support environment for military equipment.
• Experience in producing support products such as maintenance schedules, technical documentation, FMECA, and RCM; relevant training will be provided as needed.
• Working knowledge of the principles outlined in DefStan 00-25, 00-45, 00-600, JSP 886, BR1313, and DLF.
