An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor in their head office in Central London.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of an exciting projects in London's most dynamic locations along with scope to work on other high-profile projects in the future. They have established a major reputation for delivery of large-scale phased regeneration schemes. They build homes, offices, hotels, schools, medical centres, parks, playgrounds. They have major growth plans over the next few years (currently sitting between £400/450 million turnover) with more and more projects being added to the workbook in the future. With key focus' on Safety and Sustainability they really are a great employer to work for.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Senior Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Lead) and the rest of the team to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of the project in hand.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, monitor costs, and manage financial reporting.
- Procurement and management of subcontractors whilst ensuring costs fall within pre-agreed budgeting.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient contract administration and compliance.
- Lead procurement activities, including tendering and contract negotiation.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, monitor costs, and manage financial reporting.
- Analyse project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a similar construction environment
- After sales/customer care experience ideal but not essential
- Degree / HND qualification in Quantity Surveying or another relevant subject.
- Registered with the RICS / CICES and/or working towards professional chartership - preferable
- Excellent working knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC & JCT) and standard methods of measurements
- Commercial astute with notable experience working on £multimillion building construction projects.
