An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor in Hampshire. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a busy and growing team, delivering a number of projects across the M3, M25 and other motorways across the South East. This is a high value, secured framework which promises the successful candidate an interesting and exciting platform for career progression with exposure to a number of different projects.
Based in Winchester, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be taking responsibility for managing the costs of projects from procurement through to final account settlement. The work will include the removal and replacement of a number of road and footbridges, bulk earthworks, the installation of drainage systems, noise barriers, signage, lighting, security systems, new laybys and other safety features. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, some of your duties will include:
- Acting as a mentor to junior surveyors on the project whilst also supporting the commercial leadership team
- Reviewing the commercial position of the project against the forecast
- Managing the preparation of target costs
- Reporting on the commercial progress of the project to senior project staff
- Carrying out risk and opportunity analysis
- Advising colleagues in the commercial team and wider project team on contractual matters

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have had gained experience working for a large UK main contractor on civil engineering or large infrastructure projects. You'll also need good contract knowledge.
