Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London
Salary: £60,000 to £80,000 + package
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a prominent main contractor known for delivering high-profile, complex construction projects across Central London. In this pivotal role, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with a busy site team in Kensington on a complex hotel refurbishment and responsible for a range of subcontractor packages.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll quickly become an integral member of the commercial team, managing large subcontractor and supplier accounts. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Cost Control & Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, manage expenditures, and ensure cost-effective procurement and usage of resources to keep the project within budget.
- Valuations & Payment Applications: Prepare accurate valuations, progress claims, and payment applications to ensure timely cash flow and financial alignment with the project schedule.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractor agreements, including pricing, valuations, and payments, while ensuring they meet project requirements and deliverables.
- Risk & Dispute Resolution: Identify potential financial and contractual risks, manage disputes, and facilitate resolution strategies to protect the contractor's commercial interests.
- Contract Administration: Manage contract documentation, changes, and variations, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and legal requirements to support smooth project delivery.
- Cost Reporting & Forecasting: Regularly report on project costs, forecast future expenditures, and provide insights to senior management on financial performance to support informed decision-making.
Candidate Requirements:
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will need to demonstrate:
- In-Depth Project Knowledge: Expertise in the full project lifecycle and previous experience managing large subcontractor packages
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years working with a Tier 1 main contractor in a similar capacity
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills and confidence when interacting with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors and consultants
