Service Technician - Environmental (Frankfurt, Germany)

Role Overview:
As a Service Technician, you will play a key role in supporting advanced scientific instruments used across various research fields. Your primary responsibilities will include testing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and setting up instruments, as well as providing service and technical support for related questions. You will repair and service assemblies returned to the European Service Center, providing vital support to both customers and distributors. Additionally, you will assist in projects, sharing your technical expertise and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform factory calibration on CO2/H2O/CH4 gas analysers and light sensors.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and service instruments, providing cost and turn-around time estimates.
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve construction and technical difficulties.
- Maintain accurate service, test, and calibration records.
- Provide guidance on technical matters unrelated to specific instruments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Skilled worker with electronic knowledge or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and software.
- Proven ability to read and interpret schematics, component datasheets, test results, and other technical documentation.
- Experience using electronic test equipment such as volt-ohm meters and oscilloscopes.
- Solid working knowledge of computers, Windows, and MS Office.
- Communication Skills: Fluency in German (both oral and written) and a good knowledge of English is essential for this role.
