Are you organised, proactive, and ready to support a fast-paced procurement team? We're looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our growing Supply Chain team, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of procurement operations across both direct and indirect categories.
The Role:
As a Purchasing Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the procurement process-managing supplier data, processing orders in our ERP system, and supporting timely deliveries and payments. You'll collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams across Production, Quality Assurance and Programmes to ensure that our projects stay on track and our service levels remain top-notch.
So, what will you be doing as a Purchasing Assistant?
- Raising and managing Purchase Orders in our ERP system
- Maintaining accurate supplier and component information (pricing, lead times, payment terms)
- Coordinating with suppliers to track orders, resolve delays, and communicate delivery schedules
- Supporting the management of supplier order books and performance monitoring
- Assisting in the onboarding of new suppliers, including JOSCAR registration and compliance tracking
- Handling invoice and receipt queries and helping process returns for defective materials
- Maintaining supplier records including NDAs and Export Control Compliance Statements
- Attending team meetings, capturing discussions, and maintaining action registers
- Supporting the Procurement team with departmental objectives and KPIs
